A referendum is a direct vote by the player base on a proposal or rule change. This is in contrast to an issue being unilaterally decided on by the server administration. This may result in the adoption of a new policy or specific rule, or the referendum may be only advisory.

Procedure

Under the current system, a referendum may be called at any time either by a staff decision, or by any player who has made a plausible proposal, and has gained the approval of at least one-thirds of the current player base, and is able to verify that they have met these conditions, either by posting in the suggestions or chat channels on the A2 discord, by citing Minecraft chat logs, or by posting either on the A2 Forum or on A2wiki talk pages.
